Editorial policy
What we publish, where it comes from and how we fix mistakes.
Where our facts come from
We start with official sources: the national medicine price database, the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) and the South African Pharmacy Council. After that we use the pharmacy’s own website and direct questions to the pharmacy. Every fact on a pharmacy page has a source and the date we checked it.
Prices
We show an estimate of the highest legal price, worked out from the regulated price and the largest dispensing fee the law allows. It is not a quote. When regulated prices change, we update the figures and the date on every page.
Independence
- Pharmacies cannot pay to be listed, to rank higher or to change a score.
- We do not accept advertising.
- Every pharmacy is scored with the same checks and weights described on How we rate.
What we leave out
We do not list sellers of compounded or unregistered semaglutide, or anyone who supplies without a prescription. The regulator, SAHPRA, has warned that falsified semaglutide is being sold in South Africa and urges people to use only registered products from licensed pharmacies.
Medical information
We do not give medical advice or dosing information. See our Medical Disclaimer.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, tell us through the contact page. We check it against the source, fix it, and update the date on the page. If a change affects a score, we say so on the page.
